Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteers
The
Therapeutic Activities Department at Augsburg offers residents a wide range
of activities that encourages choice, independence, and enhances their life
through meaningful activities. Individual routines, interests, and capabilities
are respected as we work to help residents maintain control and independence
in their lives. Activities are offered in large and small group settings,
as well as individualized therapeutic services on a one-on-one basis.

On
a monthly basis we offer trips, a special theme party or event, and,
in the summertime, weekly picnics.
Room-to-room services include a weekly candy cart, literary cart, and
coffee cart. The volunteer program includes “Extensions of Love”
that provides residents with weekly friendly visits designed to offer
companionship, emotional support, and spiritual support. The Therapeutic
Activities Department also offers individualized restorative care to
residents referred to us by Rehabilitation Services to restore their
highest functioning level possible.
